Update No. 3

HEADER
I’m sure you are about tired of my updates, but I really want to explain to you why this is such a big deal to me.  I’ve always wanted to create, but I always have let life get in the way.  But since I’ve been able to live again. (See Plexus Post) I am getting to do things I’ve wanted to do.  In the past I’ve only been able to thing about it.  Even going so far as to buy the materials, and let it sit a good long while before trying to do anything for it.  The shadow boxes for my kids coming home outfits, sat for months.  MONTHS.  So the fact that I’m doing this as soon as I get the materials is a big deal.  Like seriously, I wish I felt like I was conveying how big this is to me.  But anyway, Sunday night after a long day, I found myself at Wal-Mart.  So I picked up the additional material I needed.  Today I cut it all up.  The yellow is the same feel as the receiving blankets.  The blue is more like a felt.  But it looks nice with the other.  I’m excited about it.

So since I wanted to make sure I had cut enough, and that it looked any bit of okay.  I once again overtook my living room floor and laid it all out.  The pattern looks really cool in my opinion.  (Ignore the purple post its; they are my start a new line marker.)   I’m really excited.  My next step is to make the rows into sewed together strips.  That will be more challenging than just cutting and making the pattern.

My biggest concern is now piecing it all together.  Mostly because my sewing machine and I don’t always see eye to eye.  That is going to be a challenge. The other challenge is the three-year-old and one-year-old that really doesn’t like to let me do anything and I doubt nap time will be long enough for me.

So that is my update!
